Highlights

With the new year, some new initiatives are happening in the classroom.  The grade 6 students are working through their learning goals on 2D geometry and they have been sharing their learning on their blogs.  Please take a look and leave a comment for your child.  In language we are working on describing a world problem with some possible solutions.  The students are encouraged to do some research for there topic and a trip to an Ottawa public library would be beneficial.  In reading, we are using text features to help us analyze nonfiction and fiction books and how they help the reader understand.  We are trying some tutorials for students, made by students to help show their thinking.  Check out the one posted today on how to measure an angle using a protractor.  You can find it under twitter or under the heading "Student Tutorials."  I would really like some feedback on your thoughts about your child's blog.  If you could write a quick comment in their agenda would be great!
