Skyping

On Friday, we had a great skype discussion with Mr. McCleary's class from a town called Burford, just North of Toronto. We began with a mystery skype where the students had to ask our friends questions about their city or town and they did the same for us. We asked questions like, "Does your city have an NFL team?" Are you within 200 KM of the great lakes? Finally our friends from Bradford guessed "OTTAWA" correctly. It was a fun experience, we had a google team who was searching the area depending on the responses from the students. We had an internet explorer group, who was researching towns around Toronto. We had a group of students generating questions to go along with the skype mystery. We then began a discussion about the book "Out of My Mind" The students shared their opinions and insights about Melody and her disability with each other. The enthusiasm in the classroom was excellent! So excellent I was very pleased to see the discussion continued on Edmodo that evening. Well Done!
